Featured: Neighborhood Support
Foster parent and teacher, Jen Baumgarten, was looking for more space for her foster kids because her current home was lacking a third bedroom and square footage. At this point, increasing the space wasn’t just a want- it was a need to keep the kids that she currently has. Jen can’t imagine leaving her neighborhood and giving up her neighbors’ support, who are like family, but additional space needed to happen. Even though she thought she’d have to sell, because she lives in such a great neighborhood, she was open to Brad and Heather expanding her current home. The renovation included an additional level on top which would house all the bedrooms, providing more space in the main living areas downstairs. They also added a big front porch for Jen and her neighbors to interact and an amazing outdoor kids playhouse in the backyard. Brad and Heather vowed to save the day on her limited budget and small time frame and quickly created the Baumgarten’s dream home.
