Featured: The Same Suburb

Our clients, Tina and Dan Countryman, came to us with the desire to raise their family in St. Louis Park, where they both grew up. Although they were already living in SLP, their 2 bedroom/2 bath dwelling wasn’t family functional for them and their one year old; much less for another child eventually. Our challenge was to give them more space, a better functioning kitchen, a fireplace to gather around, and generally more storage throughout. Since we couldn’t renovate their entire existing neighborhood, we decided to help the Countrymans sell and find a different home with which to create their dream home. Ultimately, we found a one-story in a different neighborhood of SLP where undergoing a significant renovation made more sense financially. Improvements to the new place included creating a spacious main level featuring a home office right off the front entry, transforming a three-season porch into an epic dining room, adding a mudroom, and building upwards to add 3 more bedrooms, 2 baths, and a laundry room upstairs. Finishing touches include Hygge & West wallpaper prints, glass blown lights by Hennepin Made, a waterfall-edge bar top for Dan’s whiskey collection, and countless other treasures. The end result is a classic modern oasis that goes above and beyond this family’s needs for functionality.
